Pharmaceutical compositions for treating neoplastic disorders and uses thereof are provided. Said pharmaceutical compositions comprise stabilized chlorite solutions (e.g. WFlO) and a fluoropyrimidine, 5 -FU, or a 5-FU prodrug (e.g. capecitabine, doxifluridine, UFT, S-1, or BOF-A2). The use of the above stabilized chlorite solution in combination with a fluoropyrimidine dramatically improves the quality of life index (QOL) of a patient undergoing cancer chemotherapy. Cancers that can be treated include cancers of the pancreas, gastrointestinal, head, neck, and breast.
L'invention concerne des compositions pharmaceutiques pour traiter des affections néoplasiques, ainsi que des utilisations de ces compositions. Lesdites compositions pharmaceutiques comprennent des solutions de chlorite stabilisées (p. ex. WF10) et une fluoropyrimidine, 5-FU, ou un promédicament 5-FU (p. ex. capécitabine, doxifluridine, UFT, S-1 ou BOF-A2). L'utilisation de la solution de chlorite stabilisée susmentionnée en association avec une fluoropyrimidine améliore de façon spectaculaire l'indice de qualité de vie (QV) d'un patient suivant une chimiothérapie anticancéreuse. Les cancers qui peuvent être traités sont notamment le cancer du pancréas, le cancer gastro-intestinal, le cancer de la tête, le cancer du cou et le cancer du sein.
