The present invention is a stabilized resonant tag circuit (10) for use as an electronic article surveillance tag. The tag has a flexible substantially planar dielectric substrate (12) having conductors (20, 22) positioned on either side,.at least one of the conductors including an inductor (24). The tag is stabilized by a flexible, substantially planar, tear-resistant, substantially vapor impermeable polymeric film (26, 27) adhered to and covering at least one of the conductors and the substrate. The film provides a vapor barrier which minimizes the effects of body and article detuning on the circuit and promotes the secured integrity of the tag. The tag circuit may include an intended portion (36) in at least one of the conductors which permits the tag to be deactivated in response to an electromagnetic field of sufficient energy to destroy the resonant properties of the circuit.
La présente invention est un circuit résonant stabilisé (10) qui est utilisé comme étiquette de surveillance électronique d'articles. Cette étiquette est constituée d'un substrat diélectrique souple substantiellement plan (12) portant des conducteurs (20,22) placés sur chacun des côtés, l'un de ces conducteurs au moins incluant un inducteur (24). Elle est stabilisée par un film polymérique souple et résistant à la déchirure essentiellement plan et imperméable à la vapeur (26,27) fixé aux conducteurs et au substrat et couvrant au moins l'un des conducteurs. Ce film sert de barrière contre la vapeur et minimise les déréglages de l'accord du circuit par le corps et par l'article et assure l'intégrité de l'étiquette. Une partie (36) de l'un des conducteurs au moins du circuit intégré à l'étiquette peut être utilisé pour désactiver celle-ci sous l'effet d'un champ électromagnétique suffisamment intense pour détruire les propriétés de résonance du circuit.
