La présente invention concerne une composition stabilisante pour polymère chloré (PVC) caractérisée en ce qu'elle comporte le produit brut non purifié résultant de la réaction d'un ester sur une cétone en présence d'un agent alcalin, ce produit brut comportant au moins 10% en poids de béta-dicétone et étant sous la forme d'une poudre. Cette composition présente, à poids identique, une action stabilisante au moins égale à celle qu'aurait eu une composition stabilisante comportant de la béta-dicétone purifiée recristallisée, toute chose étant égale par ailleurs. La composition selon l'invention présente donc un coût de fabrication moindre que celui des compositions stabilisantes contenant des béta-dicétones purifiées qui sont actuellement utilisées.
