PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne des latex amphotères de copolymères à base de diènes conjugués obtenus en deux étapes. La première étape consiste à préparer une disper- sion aqueuse amphotère de particules en polymérisant en émulsion un composé azoté insaturé hydrolysable et un monomère non ionogène copolymérisable au sein d'un milieu réactionnel contenant des charges essentiellement cationi- ques apportées par une substance génératrice de charges cationiques liables chimiquement aux polymères obtenus. La deuxième étape consiste à polymériser au sein de la dispersion aqueuse amphotère obtenue à la lère étape, un diène conjugué en présence d'un amorceur non chargé ou générateur de charges cationiques. Ces latex amphotères peuvent être utilisés comme liants pour le couchage du papier, pour la préparation de voiles de non-tissés, pour le revêtement de substrats métalliques.
