Stable aqueous compositions of silane quaternary ammonium compounds are provided by diluting an alkanol solution of the silane quaternary ammonium compound in water with at least one nonionic surfactant. The weight ratio of the silane quaternary ammonium compound and nonionic surfactant is provided to yield a composition which can remain stable in dilute aqueous compositions, can be applied to any surface and dry quickly to provide an anti-microbial film. The addition of an alkali metal bicarbonate salt to the composition improves the anti-microbial properties as well as the drying time of the composition.
La présente invention concerne des compositions aqueuses stables de composés ammonium quaternaire silane obtenus en diluant une solution d'alcanol du composé ammonium quaternaire silane dans de l'eau avec au moins un agent tensio-actif non ionique. Le rapport pondéral du composé ammonium quaternaire silane et de l'agent tensio-actif non ionique est prévu pour donner une composition qui peut demeurer stable dans des compositions aqueuses diluées, qui peut être appliquée à n'importe quelle surface et sécher rapidement pour donner un film antimicrobien. L'addition d'un sel de bicarbonate de métal alcalin à la composition améliore les propriétés antimicrobiennes ainsi que la durée de séchage de la composition.
