ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An effervescent vaginal suppository composition con- taining a stabilizer appropriately selected from the group con- sisting of anhydrous sodium sulfate, dried calcium carboxy- methylcellulose, dried starch and dried calcium phosphate or mix- tures thereof, preferably in an amount of 0.1-20% based on the weight of said effervescent vaginal suppository composition. Shaped effervescent vaginal suppositories are produced therefrom.
