A method of increasing the silica to metal oxide ratio in alkali metal silicate solutions by removing smaller size anions from the solution using a strong cation exchange resin, comprising condensing the smaller size anions as silica in the pores of the strong cation exchange resin, leaving the larger, more siliceous anions in the external solution.

Cette invention concerne un procédé permettant d'accroître le rapport silice/oxyde métallique dans des solutions de silicate de métal alcalin, ledit procédé consistant à retirer les anions de plus petite taille de la solution au moyen d'une résine échangeuse de cations forts, par condensation des anions de plus petite taille sous forme de silice dans les pores de la résine échangeuse de cations forts, pour laisser les anions les plus gros plus siliceux dans la solution externe.
