ABSTRACT Viscosity stable polyurethane solutions in polar solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide are obtained when such solutions contain small amounts of ammonium salts of strong acids, such salts include ammonium chloride and nitrate; the stabilized solutions may be heated without fear of de- gradation and may be used to coat and impregnate fabrics, for example, upholstery, outer garments and shoe fabrics.
