ABSTRACT TITLE : STACKABLE CONTAINERS A container comprising a tray (10) and a replacement lid (11) suitable, for example, for containing paint (20). The tray has a flange (13) terminating at a lid-engaging wall (14). Vertical ribbing (15) extends from the flange to the base of the tray and the flange offers an internal heat sealing surface (16) to which is sealed a membrane (17) extending over the contents of the container. The lid has a depression (18) in close proximity with the membrane. Vertical ribs (28) are integral with parts of the lid and the lid has location means (27) to align vertically stacked trays. Vertical stacking loads are taken through the ribs on lid and tray. The dimensions of the lid relative to the vertical ribbing (15) are such that trays can be stably stacked with a slight tilt in a horizontal direction.
