A stacked crystal array (46) includes a plurality of crystal slices (20) and a plurality of interconnects (22). The interconnects (22) have electrically conductive, spaced-apart and generally parallel elements (34) joined by electrically conductive spacers (36) extending generally orthogonally therebetween, the spacers (36) being rotationally offset from each other by a predetermined angle. The array (46) further includes a plurality of electrical insulators (24) and an electrically insulative housing (26) having a plurality of slots (40). The crystal slices (20), insulators (24) and interconnects (22) are arranged in the housing (26) to form an assembly wherein the crystal slices (20) are coupled together in a parallel electrical circuit. The assembly provides photon absorption comparable to a monolithic crystal having a thickness generally equivalent to the sum of the thicknesses of the crystal slices (20), but at a lower bias voltage.
La présente invention concerne un réseau de cristaux empilés (46) qui comprend une pluralité de tranches cristallines (20) et une pluralité d'interconnexions (22). Les interconnexions (22) comportent des éléments électroconducteurs espacés et généralement parallèles (34) joints par des espaceurs électroconducteurs (36) s'étendant généralement orthogonalement entre ceux-ci, les espaceurs (36) étant décalés par rotation les uns des autres selon un angle prédéfini. Le réseau (46) comprend en outre une pluralité d'isolants électriques (24) et un boîtier pour isolation électrique (26) comportant une pluralité de fentes (40). Les tranches cristallines (20), les isolants (24) et les interconnexions (22) sont disposés dans le boîtier (26) afin de former un ensemble dans lequel les tranches cristallines (20) sont couplées ensemble dans un circuit électrique parallèle. L'ensemble assure une absorption des photons comparable à celle d'un cristal monolithique possédant une épaisseur généralement équivalente à la somme des épaisseurs des tranches cristallines (20), mais à une tension de polarisation inférieure.
