A method and apparatus for stacking and conveying product units. The product units are conveyed on a conveyor from a loading station to an unloading station. The conveyor has a number of paddles extending therefrom where adjacentpaddles define receptacles between them for holding the product units. The invention allows the products to be reoriented while being conveyed from the loading station to the unloading station so that the products arrive at the unloading station with the desired orientation. This eliminates separate steps and apparatuses for conveying and reorienting. The present invention does this by first loading at least one product unit into the product receptacles and conveying the product units along the longitudinal axis of the conveyor. The paddles are then reoriented along a generally helical line while the products are being conveyed from the loading station to the unloading station. The paddles are reoriented to a desired angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the conveyor. The product units are unloaded at the unloading station as a stack by removing the product units from a plurality of product receptacles. Thepaddles are then reoriented and returned to their original position as when they were loaded.
Voici la description d'une méthode et d'un appareil de gerbage et de transport d'articles. Les articles sont transportés par un convoyeur d'une station de chargement à une station de déchargement. Le convoyeur comporte plusieurs palettes s'étendant à partir de celui-ci, les palettes voisines les unes des autres définissant des récipients pour contenir des articles. L'invention permet aux articles d'être réorientés pendant leur transport de la station de chargement à la station de déchargement afin que ceux-ci soient orientés correctement en arrivant à la station de déchargement. Cette fonction de réorientation élimine des étapes et des appareils séparés de transport et de réorientation. La présente invention effectue cette action en chargeant premièrement au moins un article dans un récipient et en le transportant le long de l'axe longitudinal du convoyeur. Les palettes sont ensuite réorientées le long d'une ligne généralement hélicoïdale pendant que les articles sont transportés de la station de chargement à la station de déchargement. Les palettes sont réorientées à un angle voulu en fonction de l'axe longitudinal du convoyeur. la station de déchargement, les articles sont déchargés des multiples récipients et déposés pour former une pile. Les palettes sont ensuite réorientées pour reprendre leur position initiale du moment du chargement.
