A stainless steel product having excellent corrosion resistance, antimicrobial activity and durability which may be produced by providing a stainless steel product containing 10 wt.% or more of Cr, incorporating 0.0001 to 0.30 wt.% and optionally 0.0001 to 1.0 wt.% of V into the stainless steel product, and further incorporating and dispersing therein a silver oxide in an amount of 0.0005 wt.% or more and not more than 1.1 times that of the silver contained in the steel product, and a method for the production thereof. It is desirable for uniformly dispersing the aforementioned silver oxide that the casting of a molten steel is carried out by a continuous casting at a pouring speed of 0.8 to 1.6 m/min. This stainless steel product still exhibits excellent microbial activity, even after it is subjected to various surface treatments currently employed, including polishing.
L'invention concerne un produit en acier inoxydable présentant une excellente résistance à la corrosion ainsi qu'une activité antimicrobienne et une durabilité excellentes, qu'on peut produire en formant un produit en acier inoxydable contenant une quantité égale ou supérieure à 10 % en poids de Cr, en incorporant de 0,001 à 0,30 % en poids et éventuellement de 0,001 à 1,0 % en poids de V dans le produit en acier inoxydable, et en incorporant et dispersant de plus dans ledit produit un oxyde d'argent selon une quantité égale ou supérieure à 0,0005 % en poids, mais ne dépassant pas 1,1 fois la quantité d'argent que contient le produit en acier; et un procédé de production de celui-ci. Il est souhaitable, en vue d'obtenir une dispersion uniforme de l'oxyde d'argent susmentionné, que la coulée d'acier fondu soit mise en oeuvre par coulage continu à une vitesse de coulée 0,8 à 1,6 m/min. Le produit en acier inoxydable obtenu conserve une excellente activité antimicrobienne même après avoir été soumis à divers traitements de surface employés actuellement, notamment de polissage.
