A stair chair for transporting a person up and down a flight of stairs and over a surface is disclosed. The stair chair comprising a main frame and a glide track assembly to support the stair chair for movement on the flight of stairs. The glide track assembly is pivotally connected to the main frame for pivotal movement between open and closed positions. The glide track assembly has at least one endless glide track. The stair chair also provides an adjustable glide track resistance and braking device which engages the endless glide track and is configured to infinitely adjust and set a desired rolling resistance applied to the endless glide track.
La présente invention se rapporte à une chaise d'escalier permettant de monter ou de descendre une personne le long d'une volée d'escalier et de transporter la personne au-dessus d'une surface. Cette chaise d'escalier comprend un châssis principal et un ensemble à chemins de coulissement conçu pour supporter la chaise d'escalier de sorte que celle-ci puisse se déplacer le long de la volée d'escalier. L'ensemble à chemins de coulissement est raccordé pivotant au châssis principal pour permettre le pivotement entre une position ouverte et une position fermée. L'ensemble à chemins de coulissement comporte au moins un chemin de coulissement sans fin. La chaise d'escalier est associée à un dispositif permettant de régler la résistance des chemins de coulissement et le freinage, ledit dispositif étant accouplé au chemin de coulissement sans fin et étant conçu pour permettre un ajustement infini et une définition de la résistance de roulement souhaitée appliquée au chemin de coulissement sans fin.
