Abstract of the disclosure: An additive for stall litter contains a mixture of a) urea phosphate, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid or an alkali metal bisulfate and b) a preservative organic acid, its salts or propane- 1,2-diol esters in a weight ratio of from 5 : 1 to 1 : 5. It is used to reduce the ammonia content of the air in the stalls.
