ABSTRACT A STAMPED KNITTING NEEDLE OR IMPLEMENT FOR A KNITTING OR HOSIERY MACHINE A stamped knitting needle or implement for a knitting or hosiery machine comprising a shank portion, the shank portion supporting at least one butt and at least two guide members extending to the spine of the shank, the guide members being interconnected by a first rib having a maximum height of 1.1 mm, at least one of the guide members underpinning or supporting the butt wherein, along the spine of the shank, a second rib (10) of substantially the same height as the first rib is provided such that a recess is defined between the two ribs.
