A method and apparatus for connecting a tubular to a tubular string. An assembly for engaging, compensating and connecting a tubular is provided. The assembly comprises one or more compensating pistons, an engaging assembly for engaging a tubular and a connector for connecting the engaging assembly to the one or more compensating pistons while allowing for rotation of the tubular relative to the compensation pistons.

L'invention concerne une méthode et un appareil permettant d'ajouter une tige à un train de tiges. Il s'agit d'un dispositif permettant de mettre en place, d'équilibrer et de fixer une tige. L'appareil compte au moins un piston d'équilibrage, un dispositif de mise en place de la tige et un connecteur dont la fonction est de raccorder le dispositif de mise en place aux pistons d'équilibrage tout en permettant à la tige de tourner sur son axe par rapport aux pistons d'équilibrage.
