The present invention provides a plurality of stand forming members adapted to be assembled in different configurations, including (1) a top member including a top wall that can be adapted to support a monitor and has a peripheral wall projecting away from its bottom surface; (2) a plurality of generally U-shaped intermediate members each having an upper surface adapted to either support the peripheral wall of the top member or the lower surface on a different one of the intermediate members; (3) a drawer member for insertion in each of the intermediate members; and (4) a base member adapted to be supported and to support the lower surface of the lowest one of the intermediate members.
