ABSTRACT An apparatus for use in the radiographic measurement of varus/valgus deformities of the weight bearing knee so that distortions due to parallax and misalignment are eliminated and an accurate assessment of malalignment and joint space loss in the knee can be made. The patient stands in a rectangular frame having fixed ankle blocks, horizontally movable hip pads, and independently horizontally movable and dependently verti- cally and A-P movable ASIS pads, so as to be accurately position- ed. A radiographic film is placed at a preselected position behind the knees and hips and a panel provided with a vertical line of radiopaque spheres and a pair of horizontal radiopaque rings at selected positions is placed at a preselected position in front of the patient and intermediate an X-ray source. The measurements from the developed radiographic plate can be fed to a computer and an accurate assessement of deformity in the knee joint can be produced therefrom.
