The present invention provides an isolated Staphylococcal GTPase obggene and a Staphylococcal GTP-binding protein encoded thereby. A recombinant expression vector and an engineered host cell are also provided that include a polynucleotide encoding a Staphylococcal GTP-binding protein. The present invention further relates to a method of producing StaphylococcalGTP-binding protein and a method for high throughput screening to identify potential antimicrobial compounds useful against Staphylococcal bacterial strains.

L'invention concerne en outre un procédé de production de ladite protéine de liaison au GTP Staphylococcique ainsi qu'un procédé de criblage à grande capacité de manière à identifier les composés antimicrobiens éventuels utiles pour lutter contre les souches bactériennes Staphylococciques.
