The present invention relates to a method of preparing a starch-based composition, characterised in that it comprises: (a) mixing a starch substrate with sodium perborate; (b) adding water to the mix of step (a) to form a slurry; and (c) pasting the slurry of step (b), provided that the method does not include, between steps (b) and (c), the step of adding an effective amount of hydrolytic enzyme to the slurry. The invention further relates to starch- based compositions prepared in accordance with said method, paper sizing and/or coating compositions comprising said starch-based compositions and paper products treated with said sizing and/or coating compositions.
L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'une composition à base d'amidon, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste à: (a) mélanger un substrat d'amidon à du perborate de sodium; (b) ajouter de l'eau au mélange de l'opération (a) pour former une pâte liquide; et (c) appliquer la pâte liquide de l'opération (b), à condition que ce procédé n'implique pas, entre l'opération (b) et (c), l'addition d'une quantité efficace d'une enzyme hydrolytique. Par ailleurs, l'invention concerne des compositions à base d'amidon préparées selon ledit procédé, des compositions de collage et/ou de couchage de papier qui contiennent les compositions à base d'amidon précitées, ainsi que des produits de papier traités avec les compositions de collage et/ou de couchage de papier.
