IMPROVED STARCH PASTE Abstract of the Disclosure The invention concerns an improved starch paste having excellent disintegration properties, which is useful as a binder for the preparation of granules in the fields of foodstuffs, medicines and the like. The improved starch paste is prepared by treating a natural starch or an .alpha.-starch with an organic solvent selected from alcohols having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, acetone and mixtures thereof, before or after converting the starch into the starch paste.
