A base for a drilling device for underground excavations has a base frame (5) mounted so as to rotate about a vertical axis (6) and a base pipe (7) rotatable about a substantially horizontal axis (13) for receiving the drilling device. The base pipe (7) is arranged so as to slide in relation to the base frame (5) transversely to the horizontal rotational axis (13).
