PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION L'invention concerne un procédé de démarrage d'une conversion catalytique d'hydrocarbures par traitement préalable d'un catalyseur dans lequel on a incorporé un agent soufré. L'invention est caractérisé en ce que le catalyseur imprégné de soufre est placé en atmosphère inerte puis est traité par de l'hydrogène dilué en vue d'éliminer l'exothermicité produite lors de la transformation en sulfures des oxydes des métaux actifs du catalyseur.
