Building monitoring and control systems including bi-directional radio frequency links between master and remote units wherein the remote units operate in a low power, non-receiving state a majority of the time ie disclosed. The bi-directional capability allows coordinated scheduling which aids in allowing the remote units to transmit data only at periodic time intervals to extend battery life. The bi-directional capabilities also allow for re-read requests for alarm validation and for putting remote units in armed and disarmed states for power conservation.

L'invention concerne la construction de systèmes de surveillance et de commande comprenant des liaisons radiofréquence bidirectionnelles entre des unités pilotes et des unités à distance, ces dernières fonctionnant la plupart du temps en mode faible puissance et dans un état de non-réception. Cette fonction bidirectionnelle permet une planification coordonnée qui facilite la transmission de données, depuis les unités à distance, uniquement à intervalles de temps périodiques, ce qui prolonge la durée de vie de la batterie. Ces fonctions bidirectionnelles permettent par ailleurs d'émettre des demandes de relecture pour une validation d'alarme et de disposer d'unités à distance dans des états activé et désactivé pour gérer la consommation d'énergie.
