ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Apparatus having a static mixer for blending fluent materials such as particulate solids and liquids includes a self-contained cleaner that comprises a mounting plate having an array of extending pins which are positioned transversely to the flow of fluent materials conducted through a blending box. An array of apertures corresponding to the pin array is formed in a side wall of the box. The pins, which closely fit the apertures, slidably enter the box through the apertures and produce turbulence in the moving fluent materials to effect uniform blending. When fluent materials having an adhesive quality are deposited on the pins, the pins are scraped clean by periodic with- drawal out of the box through their respective apertures.
