2138398 9325423 PCTABS00028 The invention relates to a static trimmer for a hovercraft which has at least one compressor mechanism to generate an air-cushion beneath the craft and in which the air-cushion is laterally limited by a peripheral elastic skirt consisting of a back skirt and a finger skirt. The aim of the invention is to provide a static trimmer for a hovercraft by means of which the craft can be effectively trimmed or its position can be controlled and by means of which the craft can be manoeuvred even when stationary. According to the invention the centre of buoyancy of the air-cushion is shifted in relation to the centre of gravity of the craft in that the elastic skirt (2) is divided into sections which can be shifted independently from one another and control components act with the laterally shiftable sections (6, 7, 8, 9) of the elastic skirt (2). These control components consist of cable winches (14), and two tension cables (15, 16) are provided for one laterally shiftable section (6; 7; 8; 9). The tension cables (15, 16) are guided at a distance apart over deflection rollers and engage with one segment (5) of the finger skirt (4).
