ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a magnetic separator which comprises a feed hopper for the raw material which is to be separated, and chutes for separating and discharging respectively, the concentrate and the tailing which have been magnetically separated from each other. A rotary drum is incorporated into the casing and has separation walls of a non-magnetic material disposed in both sides. There is thus formed at least one feed separation passageway which extends from the feed hopper on the rotation side of the drum, to the discharge chutes. A series of stationary magnetic poles are disposed at the back of both of the separation walls. In a preferred embodiment, paddles are constructed on the separation walls on both sides of the feed separation passageway and the paddles are equidistantly spaced in a staggered, opposed arrangement on both sides of the passage- way. This device allows for efficient magnetic separation of powdered raw ore by dispersing and floating the ores concurrently to the magnetic separation without resulting to any external means to liberate the entraining phenomenon of non-magnetic particles.
