17 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A stator coil support structure is provided that comprises both a generally rigid, non-conductive structure for encasing the spiral pancake coils of a dynamoelectirc machine and generally flexible, non-conductive support means disposed adjacent each turn of the pancake coils between each turn and its adjacent portion of the gener- ally rigid structure. The structure provides support for the stator coil structure while permitting a slight move- ment of each pancake coil turn to prevent excessive strain on the coil turns.
