A stator winding apparatus is disclosed for use in the manufacture of stators having radially-extending, outwardly-open, coil-receiving slots (24). Lead wire guide assemblies (60) are provided for guiding lead wires into cavities (28) in individual terminal members (26) mounted on the stator core (22). In addition, a wire-retaining member (62) is provided to confine a lead wire between the end face of the stator core and the wire retaining member to thereby prevent the lead wire from being inadvertently looped around a portion of the wire-guide tooling provided to guide wire into the stator core slots. Related methods are also disclosed.

L'invention se rapporte à un appareil d'enroulement de stator destiné à être utilisé dans la fabrication de stators dont les fentes (24) s'étendent radialement, sont ouvertes vers l'extérieur et réceptionnent des enroulements partiels. Des ensembles de guidage (60) permettent de guider des fils de plomb dans des cavités (28) d'éléments terminaux individuels (26) montés sur la partie centrale (22) du stator.
