This invention is a hair curling apparatus (10) for subjecting a tress of hair, previously wound about a cylinder, to a vaporized fluid for imparting a resilient and lasting curl to the hair upon removal of the cylinder. The apparatus comprises, generally, a handle (23) containing a refillable fluid reservoir (22), a heating element (24) for heating the fluid to vaporization, a barrel (40) extending outwardly from the handle (23) and containing a plurality of steam releasing holes (42), a channel (30) for communicating the vaporized fluid from the reservoir (22) to the barrel (40) and a trigger mechanism (36) for activating and metering the volume of fluid passed through the channel (30).

Cette invention concerne un appareil (10) pour la mise en plis des cheveux. Avec cet appareil, on applique une contrainte sur une mèche de cheveux en l'enroulant autour d'un cylindre. Puis, on applique un fluide vaporisé pour que les cheveux gardent leur forme après le retrait du cylindre. L'appareil comporte essentiellement une poignée (23) avec un réservoir (22) que l'on peut remplir avec un fluide, un élément chauffant (24) servant à chauffer le fluide afin de le vaporiser, un manchon (40) partant de la poignée (23) et comportant une pluralité de trous (42) pour laisser échapper la vapeur d'eau, un canal (30) permettant le passage du fluide vaporisé depuis le réservoir (22) jusqu'au manchon (40), et un mécanisme de gâchette (36) permettant de déclencher le passage de fluide vaporisé par le canal (30) et d'en doser le volume.
