Abstract Apparatus for removing compressed snow includes a steam cutter provided with a plurality of longitudinally extending pipes connected to a header. Each of the pipes has steam discharge openings formed in its undersurface. A blade for scooping up compressed snow is located behind the steam cutter. The angle of the blade relative to the direction of travel of the apparatus is adjustable.
