52,196 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A steam turbine exhaust pipe erosion prevention system is disclosed. The system is particularly adaptable to the exhaust system of a high pressure steam turbine of a nuclear power plant. The system includes a moisture pre-separator to remove damaging water droplets prior to exhausting through the exhaust nozzles of the exhaust hood of the turbine. The system also includes an erosion prevention device strategically positioned in close proximity to pipe bends between the exhaust hood and the moisture separator reheater. The erosion prevention device removes the water film formed by damaging water droplets near pipe bends.
