ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A restart temperature maintenance system and method for a steam turbine system is disclosed. The restart system utilizes a plurality of electric heating blankets maintained over an air gap to maintain the temper- ature of the turbine rotor at a desired initial start-up temperature thereby greatly decreasing the time required for warm-up.
