Abstract A steamer for use in saunas, shower stalls and the like, comprising a storage tank for unheated water, an inlet to the tank for admitting the unheated water, a valve for controlling water flow into the tank in order to maintain a predetermined water level therewithin, a low volume heating chamber positioned at an elevation corresponding to the predetermined water level, a conduit for conveying the unheated water from the tank to the heating chamber, and a heating element in the chamber for heating the water to create steam.
