ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE : Helical steel cable, particularly for the reinforcement of rubber articles, cabled from at least three bare strands identical to one another, each constituted by a number of bare steel wires, characterised in that the strands are cabled around a continuous extruded core of yieldable polymeric material, having in transverse section the shape of a regular star with at least three arms each of which penetrates between two consecutive strands to and extent sufficient to prevent dirext physical contact between the latter and is gripped between these consecutive strands.
