STEEL FOR WELDING WITH HIGH HEAT INPUT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A steel for welding with high heat input according to the present invention keeps excellent toughness in welded parts where the welding is undertaken under condition of more than 50KJ/cm, especially more than 100KJ/cm, and secures vE-50 ? 5Kg-m or vE-20 ? 10kg-m in the most brittle portions affect- ed the the welding heat. Further, the steel of the invention maintains strength of a matrix more than 32Kg/mm2 in yield point and more than 50Kg/mm2 in tensile strength by providing conditions specified in the invention. The steel has the heat affected part composed of initial precipitation of ferrite and middle structure, and display power at low temperatures for steels of containers storing LPG, and this is suited to a large electrode distance submerged arc welding and is excellent in critical COD value for weldments.
