A steel rule cutting die for cutting fixed patterns in a single or plurality of stacked material layers (6) according to the shape of the steel rule. The invention provides for a decrease in the quantity of scrap material produced, by minimizing the amount of gap between adjacent cavities (2) in the steel rule cutting die. Presharpened steel rule is used with the cutting edge (5) shifted to the outboard side of the cavity thus reducing the amount of compression or wedging of scrap material between adjacent cavities, and thus allowing adjacent cavities to be positioned closer to one another or to contact one another without reducing the ability to remove the scrap material after the cutting operation. Frayed scrap material can be evacuated through the base of the die by providing evacuation holes (17) in the base substrate of the die as well as providing for evacuation of scrap material from marker notch locations (16) along joined sections of adjacent cavities. A variety of cavity shapes can be accommodated.
La présente invention concerne un emporte-pièce destiné à découper, dans une ou plusieurs couches empilées de matière, des motifs fixes correspondant à la forme de l'emporte-pièce. L'invention assure une réduction de la quantité de déchets grâce à la réduction au minimum des intervalles entre les cavités voisines de l'emporte-pièce. On utilise une bande d'acier affûtée à l'avance, le tranchant étant décalé vers l'extérieur de la cavité, ce qui réduit l'importance de la compression ou le blocage de déchets entre les cavités voisines et permet de placer celles-ci plus près les unes des autres ou en contact réciproque sans que cela réduise la possibilité d'enlever les déchets après le découpage. Les déchets effilochés peuvent être évacués à travers la base de l'emporte-pièce grâce à la présence de trous d'évacuation dans son support de base ainsi que depuis des emplacements d'encoches de repérage le long de parties réunies de cavités voisines. Différentes formes de cavités sont possibles.
