A coiled steel strip for the manufacture of a three-piece can body having, on one surface corresponding to the outer surface of the can body, a multiple-layer organic film including a thermoplastic resin layer and a layer of inks arranged on said thermoplastic resin layer to represent a label of a content to be filled in the can, and on the other surface corresponding to the inner surface of the can body, a film or films of a thermosetting coating and/or a thermoplastic resin, said multiple layer organic film extending continuously along the length direction of said strip in a plurality of stripes, each having a width slightly smaller than the circumferential length of the can body and being arranged such that said strip has spaces of a width of 1 to 10 mm at both sides of each such stripe, free from coverage by said organic film, and said film or films of a thermosetting coating and/or a thermoplastic resin extending continuously along the length direction of said strip in a plurality of stripes, each having a width slightly smaller than the circumferential length of the can body and being arranged in alignment with said stripe of said multiple layer organic film back to back on the respective surfaces of said strip, as well as the production of the steel strip sheet, and a resistance seam welded three-piece can body.
Bande d'acier enroulée pour la fabrication d'une boîte métallique en trois pièces comprenant, sur une surface correspondant à la surface extérieure de la boîte, une pellicule organique multicouche munie d'une couche de résine thermoplastique et d'une couche d'encres disposée sur la couche de résine pour représenter une étiquette du contenu de la boîte. Sur l'autre surface correspondant à la surface intérieure de la boîte, il y a une ou des pellicules d'un revêtement thermodurcissable et/ou de résine thermoplastique. La pellicule organique multicouche se prolonge en continu dans le sens de la longueur de la bande en de nombreuses bandes, chacune de ces bandes étant légèrement moins large que la longueur périphérique de la boîte et placée de façon que la bande présente des espaces d'une largeur de 1 à 10 mm sur chaque côté, libre de tout revêtement de pellicule organique. La ou les pellicules de revêtement thermodurcissable et/ou de résine thermoplastique se prolongent en continu dans le sens de la bande en de nombreuses bandes, chacune étant légèrement moins large que la longueur périphérique de la boîte et alignée avec la bande de la pellicule organique multicouche recto verso sur les surfaces respectives de la bande. L'invention comprend également la production de la feuille d'acier enroulée et une boîte métallique en trois pièces à soudage continu.
