Abstract of the Disclosure Wire is made by cold working rod made from con- tinuously cast silicon-killed boron steel made in an electric furnace from a charge of essentially 100% cold scrap. This is a relatively low tensile strength low carbon basic wire as, for example, contrasted with high tensile strength spring wire, useful for toy parts, shelving, carts, clothes hangers, and nails. It also lends itself to hot-dip galvanizing.
