ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A small, inexpensive steerable antenna system includes a dielectric plate, radiators angularly spaced adjacent a perimeter of the dielectric plate, and a feed input coupled to the dielectric plate at a position between a center point of the dielectric plate and the perimeter of the dielectric plate. The feed input applied electromagnetic energy to the dielectric plate. The electromagnetic energy drives the radiators, such that the dielectric plate forms a lens antenna that substantially collimates the electromagnetic energy applied by the feed input. A plurality of feed inputs and a steering means enable the selection of a desired azimuth and elevation of transmission. The steerable antenna system enables the formation and steering of beams without the need for a complicated power divider or phase shifter.
