STEERING ARRANGEMENT OF A SAILING VESSEL Abstract Steering arrangement of a sailing vessel comprises two rudders kinematically linked to a steering control me- ans and interconnected therebetween for joint swivelling about their axes disposed forward of the points of applica- tion of the total wave pressures to the rudders. The kine- matic linkage connecting the rudders is so constructed as to enable the rudders to freely turn substantially at equal angles in the mutually opposite directions from external forces exerted on the rudders. The proposed device enables to reduce severalfold the maximum loads exerted on the rud- ders when the vessel sails at rough seas.
