The invention relates to a steering gear comprising a steering housing (1), a rack (11) that defines an axial direction and meshes with a pinion (13), a hydraulic servo drive with a piston/cylinder unit (2) which is provided with a piston rod extending in an axial direction and a cylinder. Said piston/cylinder unit ( (2) can be embodied in a particularly compact manner as a result of the fact that the rack and the piston rod are disposed parallel to each other in an axial direction while being spaced apart perpendicular to said axial direction.
