ABSTRACT A device for locking a steering mechanism which includes a key rotor rotatable and axially movable in a cylinder, a rotatable lock cam coupled to the key rotor to control a lock member adapted to lock and unlock the steering mechanism, a mov- able regulating plate in the lock cam normally protruding perpen- dicularly therefrom to prevent the lock cam from turning from an unlock position to a lock position and a drive cam for moving the regulating plate when the key rotor is pushed in so as to allow the lock cam to turn to the lock position.
