An apparatus for controlling the braking of a vehicle having a brake system. The apparatus comprises a brake actuating member (10) mounted to the vehicle within hand reach of a driver. Strain gages (17S, 18S) are adapted for being disposed in communication with the brake actuating member (10). A processing unit is connected to the strain gages (17S, 18S) for receiving input therefrom and for proportionally power-assisting the brake system of the vehicle, whereby the driver, by exerting varying pressure (A) by hand on the brake actuating member (10), controls the braking of the vehicle.
L'invention concerne un appareil permettant de commander le freinage d'un véhicule doté d'un système de freinage. Ledit appareil comprend un élément de commande des freins (10) monté au véhicule à l'intérieur de ce dernier, à portée de main du conducteur. Des jauges de déformation (17S, 18S) sont conçues pour être placées en communication avec ledit élément (10). Une unité de traitement est connectée aux jauges de déformation (17S, 18S) pour recevoir une entrée provenant de celles-ci et assister proportionnellement le système de freinage du véhicule. Le conducteur qui exerce manuellement une pression variante (A) sur l'élément de commande des freins (10) commande le freinage du véhicule.
