A medical device comprises a catheter (11) having a balloon (15) positioned thereon, a stent (12) and a sheath (30). The sheath is disposed about the stent when the stent is in a reduced diameter configuration. When the stent is in the reduced diameter configuration it is disposed about a portion of the catheter distally adjacent to the balloon. The catheter is moveable relative to the sheath.

Cette gaine entoure l~endoprothèse lorsque celle-ci est à son diamètre minimal. En configuration de diamètre minimal, l~endoprothèse est située sur un segment du cathéter adjacent mais postérieur au ballonnet. Le cathéter peut être déplacé par rapport à la gaine.
