A stent delivery system comprising a catheter. The catheter including a stent mounting region and a stent disposed thereabout. The stent having a distal end and a proximal end, and an unexpanded state and an expanded state. At least one stent retaining sleeve, having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end overlays an end of the stent when the stent is in the unexpanded state. The second end engaged to at least a portion of the catheter adjacent to the stent mounting region. The stent retaining sleeve(s) comprising a first material and at least one substantially longitudinally oriented fiber of a second material. The first material having a predetermined tensile modulus and the second material having a predetermined tensile modulus, wherein the predetermined tensile modulus of the second material is greater than that of the first material.
Système de pose de stents comprenant un cathéter. Le cathéter comporte une zone de montage du stent sur laquelle est disposé un stent. Le stent présente une extrémité distale et une extrémité proximale, avec un état de non dilatation et un état de dilatation. Le système comprend au moins un manchon de retenue du stent avec une première et une seconde extrémités, la première extrémité recouvrant une extrémité du stent lorsque celui-ci n'est pas dilaté. La seconde extrémité s'emboîte sur au moins une partie du cathéter contre la région de montage du stent. Le ou les manchons de retenue du stent sont constitués d'au moins un premier matériau et d'au moins une fibre d'un second matériau orientée dans le sens longitudinal. Le premier matériau possède un premier module d'élasticité en traction et le second matériau au second module d'élasticité en traction, le module d'élasticité en traction prédéterminée du second matériau étant supérieur à celui du premier matériau.
