A stent removal device (24) for removing or repositioning a stent (10) from within a lumen is provided. The stent (10) typically comprises at least one suture (16) arranged circumferentially about the stent (10). The stent removal device includes a tube (26) positioned within the lumen proximate to the stent (10), wherein the tube (26) is capable of receiving at least at portion of the stent (10). The stent removal device (24) also includes a pusher (28) positioned within the tube (26) and capable of engaging the stent (10) or the suture (16). The stent removal device (24) further includes a hook (30) positioned within the tube (26) and capable of engaging the suture (16) such that force applied to the hook (30) causes the stent (10) to purse string.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de retrait d'une endoprothèse vasculaire permettant de retirer ou de repositionner une endoprothèse à partir de l'intérieur d'une lumière. Ladite endoprothèse vasculaire comporte, généralement, au moins une suture placée sur la circonférence de l'endoprothèse. Ledit dispositif de retrait de l'endoprothèse vasculaire comporte un tube placé au sein de la lumière adjacente à l'endoprothèse, ledit tube pouvant recevoir au moins une partie de l'endoprothèse. Ce dispositif de retrait de l'endoprothèse présente un poussoir placé au sein du tube et capable de rentrer en contact avec l'endoprothèse ou la suture. Ledit dispositif de retrait de l'endoprothèse présente aussi un crochet placé au sein du tube et capable de rentrer en contact avec la suture, de telle manière qu'une force appliquée sur le crochet amène l'endoprothèse à faire tourner le fil.
