ABSTRACT A collapsible ladder having vertical and horizontal ladder parts has a stepboard detachably mounted on the horizontal ladder part. The stepboard has a width which is less than or equal to the separation between uprights of the horizontal ladder part and retaining members for detachably securing the stepboard to the rungs of the horizontal ladder part.
