A stereoselective process for preparing 7-[(E)-t-butyloxyiminomethyl]- camptothecin (also known as gimatecan) is herein disclosed. With the addition of further dissolution and precipitation steps carried out in appropriate different solvent mixtures, four new crystalline forms of gimatecan are also obtainable by using the same stereoselective process.

L'invention concerne une méthode stéréosélective de préparation de 7-[(E)-t-butyloxyiminométhyl]-camptothécine (également connue sous le nom de gimatecan). La mise en oeuvre de nouvelles étapes de dissolution et de précipitation réalisées dans différents mélanges de solvants appropriés permet également de préparer quatre nouvelles formes cristallines du gimatecan au moyen de la méthode stéréosélective.
