A sternum closure device (1) for securing parts of severed sternum, such as a human sternum following surgery. The device includes an anvil (16) capable of forming staples (5), a bracket (20) positioned opposite the anvil, an instrument (60) for creating openings in the sternum a clamping mechanism and a mechanism for feeding, mounting and applying the staples (100). The bracket is joined with the anvil through a displacement mechanism (40). The instrument for forming opening is designed as a bit brace having a reducing gear and two chucks, to enable concurrent drilling of openings in both severed parts of the severed sternum. The mechanism for feeding and mounting the staples comprises a ribbed bed (101), a cartridge (131) containing staples and an instrument for mounting the staples. The clamping means enables drilling of openings in both severed parts of sternum, and feeding and mounting the staples. Specially designed pincers (300) are also provided for mounting the staples and other special staples.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (1) de fermeture du sternum servant à fixer des parties d'un sternum disjoint, tel qu'un sternum humain, après une intervention chirurgicale. Des tenailles (300) spécialement conçues servent également à monter les agrafes et d'autres agrafes particulières.
